French oak bench

Circa 1860
 
French oak bench or long stool from the southern region of Provence.
 
Very decorative but with classic simplicity of the provincial style…a single plank top with a naturally aged finish, supported by twin pairs of turned trestle legs with a stretcher. Cleaned and beeswax polished to give it a lovely natural and mellow glow.
 
Very solid and substantial bench that can work as a kitchen table bench or equally well as a hall bench or window seat.
